Okay, here's the challenge:

Write a short story (5k to 10k words) with only this title as your guide:

"Love In the Time of Spiders".

Post your stories here and at the end of October we'll vote for whose was best. Yes, there will be a prize. No, I haven't thought of what it will be yet. Yes, we'll be taking a break for NaNo and Christmas.

There are no restrictions on genre, but if you want to be considered I'm afraid you'll have to write in English.

I have worked up a few conditions to the contest. Since we're sort of a small outfit here, we'd prefer not to be sued. So please, original work ONLY. This means original characters as well. Fan fic and stories featuring real world people. Please don't steal someone else's work, yeah?

Next up, please, no porn. I have nothing against it. Heck, some of my best friends are pictures of naked girls, this is at least ostensibly (and alliteratively!) a family friendly forum.

Judges and their family members MAY enter, but you won't win. Trust me on this.

And finally, under 18 must have parental permission to participate. As I say, I don't wanna get sued.
